Kingston Boys Win District Crown Over Greenville 63-58

(Leadwood) The Kingston Cougars benefited from the hot shooting of Cody Yates and Mason Nelson as they beat the Greenville Bears 63-58 for the Class 3 District 3 title Saturday night at West County High school. The game was broadcast on KREI 800AM and mymoinfo.com. Kingston will now face Jefferson Tuesday night in the sectional round. For the Cougars, Yates and Nelson each scored 26 points to help the Cougars win the title. Mason Nelson was the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

For Greenville, they were led in scoring by Easton Evans who had 21 points.

The score was tied 11-11 at the end of the first quarter but Kingston’a Mason Nelson hit a three pointer as the horn sounded at the end of the second quarter to give the Cougars a
26-19 at halftime.

Kingston head coach Paul Hamilton said credit for the win went to everybody.

 

Greenville ends their season with a record of 17-7. Despite the loss, Bears head coach Nathan Walk said he was proud of his team.

With the win, Greenville improved their record to 18-9.
