Latest from Iron County on Coronavirus Pandemic

(Ironton) Coronavirus numbers continue to be small in Iron County.

Roger Medley is the sheriff of the county and also the county’s emergency management director.

He tells us where Iron County stands as far as Covid-19 testing and confirmed cases.

The sheriff credits the low number of cases to the citizens of Iron County.

Elephant Rocks State Park in Graniteville will open back up next Monday.

The park was closed back in March when a nice weekend brought a huge crowd to the giant granite rock boulder park where visitors were not adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Sheriff Medley says park staff will be keeping a closer eye on the number of visitors to the park.

Most businesses in Iron County have reopened after the state’s Stay at Home order was lifted on Monday.

The sheriff says social distancing guidelines should continue to be followed.
