Lesterville VB Captures 4th-Straight District Title

(ELLINGTON, Mo.) – Another dominant district performance from the Lesterville Bearcats volleyball team has sent them back into the Class 1 state playoffs. The Bearcats swept both South Iron and Winona Tuesday in the Class 1 District 5 tournament in Ellington to take their fourth straight district title and their sixth in eight years. Bearcats coach Betsy Middleton said her team had some extra motivation entering this tournament.
Middleton said her team’s defense was the driving force behind their victories.
With a younger group of players this season, Middleton said she is glad that they can enjoy some early playoff success.
Next up, the Bearcats will travel to Summersville for the sectionals and quarterfinals on Saturday. They will face the Miller Cardinals in the sectional round, with the winner taking on either Summersville or Billings in the quarterfinals.
