Longtime City Of Festus Employee Retires After 41 Years

A longtime City of Festus employee is now enjoying retirement. For 41 years, Kerry Patek has served the city of Festus and many of those years as the city clerk and Wednesday was her final day on the job. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says it’s both great and tough to see a great employee begin retirement.

Camp says her replacement is Leah Smith, is the former Executive Assistant for Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon. Camp says she will do great things.

Smith had been training with Patek since December of last year. Festus Mayor Sam Richards proclaimed Friday, March 1st, 2024 as Kerry Patek Day in Festus.
