MAC vs Moberly in Men’s and Women’s Region 16 Semis

Both Mineral Area College basketball teams play Moberly in the Region l6 semifinals in Jefferson City. The men play Thursday and the women play Friday.

The MAC men knocked off State Fair twice in four days to advance. Moberly went undefeated during the regular season in Region 16 play. Mineral Area fell by 10 at home and by 26 on the road. Cardinals coach Luke Strege says it’s not a great matchup for his team, but he feels like his guys are playing with house money right now…

The Cardinals come in at 23-8. Moberly is 24-6 and has won 17 of its last 18 games. We’ll have the call on AM 800 KREI starting at 5:45 Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show.

The second seeded Cardinal women are 21-7 and beat the 15-15 Greyhounds by 28 and 29 points during the regular season.

Moberly beat Jeff Co 74-40 in the opening round while MAC received a bye. Mineral Area has played it’s last three games without two of its starters and coach Gary Koch says they still won’t be at full power for this one…
