MAC Women’s And Men’s Soccer Nationally Ranked In Year Two Of Program’s Existence

(Park Hills) The Mineral Area College men’s and women’s soccer teams are only in their second year of existence, but you wouldn’t know that from the way they’re playing. The men’s team is 3-1-1 and are ranked 16th in the latest NJCAA poll while the women’s team carries a 4-1 record and are ranked 21st in the nation. Dan Martin is the head coach for both teams. Coming into this season, Martin expected to fill the win column.

Coaching your team to a top-25 ranking is not easy. Coaching two teams, simultaneously, to national recognition must come with its challenges.

Martin is helped by his two assistants, Mako Makoanyane and Jamie Pickel.

The MAC women’s soccer team faces St. Louis Community College today at 5. The men’s team will play St. Louis Community College this Saturday at 2 at Engler Park in Farmington.
