Meramec Regional Planning Commission Serves Counties & Cities in a Variety of Ways

(St. James) In 1965, the Missouri legislature adopted the State and Regional Planning and Community Development Act.

This act created the Missouri Department of Community Affairs, now called the Missouri Department of Economic Development, and authorized the governor to create regional planning commissions upon the petition of local governments.

Caitlin Jones with the Meramec Regional Planning Commission says they provide all kinds of services.

The Meramec Regional Planning Commission, which was formed in 1969, serves three counties and their cities in our listening area, which are Crawford, Dent and Washington counties.
