(Jefferson City) A Cole County judge has rejected a motion that would have made mail-in voting easier for Missourians.

The League of Women Voters and the Missouri NAACP were seeking a preliminary injunction.

Those groups say it is important for people to have the mail-in option during the coronavirus pandemic.

Judge Jon Beetem disagreed in his ruling.

While public health officials are urging people to social distance, questions are being raised about how voting will work for the presidential election in November.

The lawsuit wanted to let Missouri voters cast absentee ballots by mail without having a notary sign your ballot before sending it back to your county clerk’s office.
