MU Extension To Host Various Events

The University of Missouri Extension is planning to host a few different events of note over the next three weeks. The first is a video presentation on how to raise a small flock of chickens for egg production. It will take place this Thursday, February 16th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will be shown at locations in both Farmington and Ste. Genevieve. Those interested in attending can register online or by calling 573-756-4539.

The next major event is the Central Missouri Forage & Beef Conference, which is happening on Friday, March 3rd in Vienna from 1 to 7 and costs 10 dollars at the door. MU Extension agent Rachael Hopkins tells us what to expect from the program.

Registration can be found on the MU Extension website.

The third and final significant event is a farm succession program on Monday, March 6th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wurdack Research and Education Center in Cook Station. It will cover the process of passing a family farm onto the next generation. Hopkins says that trends in family farms can vary wildly.

Registration for this event is also through the MU Extension website. Any other questions can be directed to Hopkins at 573-438-2671.
