New Fredericktown Volleyball Coach Nickey Reutzel Is Excited For The Season

(Madison County) The Fredericktown High School volleyball team has a new coach this year. Nickey Reutzel, who is also the new high school principal, is taking over for her sister, Billie McFadden, as head coach. McFadden coached the Blackcats the last four years. Reutzel had previously coached the varsity volleyball team in 2016 and 2017. She’s been able to spend a little time getting to know the girls this summer.

Fredericktown has two all-conference players returning to the team: senior Ava Penuel and junior PJ Reutzel, the daughter of Nickey. While Nickey has been getting acclimated to her principal duties and traveling with her kids while they play sports this summer, she’s gotten a lot of help from assistant coach Audrey Tipton.

Reutzel is a 2002 graduate of Fredericktown. She is married to Fredericktown girls varsity basketball coach Micah Reutzel and is also the mother to Tucker and Mazie. The Blackcats open their season on Monday, August 28th at home versus Herculaneum.
