No More Swimming At What Is Now Called Rockford Park

(HOUSE SPRINGS, HILLSBORO) As spring and summer approaches, the Jefferson County Council has taken steps to make changes at Rockford Beach Park in House Springs. The area has become deadly over the past few years with a few drownings and large numbers have gathered there causing problems for 1st responders trying to get onto the grounds. Another issue has been several visitors consuming alcohol in the park along the Big River. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says the council took action and passed a bill on Monday night.

Gannon says the waters there can be dangerous and unpredictable.

So Rockford Beach Park will be renamed as simply Rockford Park. Swimming and wading will be prohibited as well as consuming alcohol, flying drones, and even riding horses on the grounds.
