North County survives behind Kekec to knock off Ste. Genevieve

The North County Raiders survived a second-half rally by the Ste. Genevieve Dragons and and came out with a 60-53 win Friday night.

Behind 11 points from junior forward Clayton Crow, the Raiders led 32-18 at halftime.

An 11-0 run by Ste. Gen in the second half powered the Dragons to a brief lead, but junior Dream Team guard Karter Kekec hit a big shot at the end of the third quarter to give the Raiders the lead for good.

Kekec was the Applebee’s Player of the Game as the game’s leading scorer with 24 points, and Crow finished with 21 as North County won its sixth straight.
Raiders head coach Jimmy Palmer had high praise for both of his senior stars.

North County improves to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in MAAA Large School Division play while Ste. Gen falls to 7-8 and 0-2 in conference play.
