Northwest Beats Windsor 14-3

(IMPERIAL)    The Northwest Lions used timely hitting and a homerun by Mitchell Schleeper Monday to beat the Windsor Owls 14-3. Northwest scored seven run in the third inning and five more in the fourth to pad their lead and win in five innings.

Northwest Coach Logan Winder says his team has had some tough games this year but on Monday they were able to prevail.

Winder says a number of hitters had a good day.

Getting the win for the Lions was Coby Williams. It was his first start of the season as he has mostly been a reliever, but he went five innings to get the win. Williams gave up 7 hits, three runs, walked two and struckout four. Coach Winder says he has been wanting to get the left handed Williams into the regular rotation. role.

Austin Happel took the loss for the Owls. Windsor slips to 9-6 while Northwest improves to 5-ll.

The Owls will host the 9-2 Perryville Pirates Wednesday while Northwest will entertain the 9-8 Seckman Jaguars Tuesday.
