(Cedar Hill) The Northwest Lions have plenty of experience back in girls’ basketball, just not with success.

5 wins last year marked the sixth straight season without a winning record, but the Lions return everyone but leading scorer Abby Wright, and assistant coach Brian Houts takes over the program.

Houts says, all things considered, there’s a lot of reason to think things will get better sooner rather than later.

Houts says it all starts with figuring out which of his returning players can fill the scoring void left by Wright.

Northwest bounced back to beat Hillsboro after a loss in its opener against Salem.
