Northwest Tries to Nail Down Seckman in Football Rivalry on KJFF

(Cedar Hill) Suburban Conference rivals collide as the Seckman Jaguars travel to take on the Northwest Lions Friday on Jefferson County Friday Night Football on KJFF. Seckman bounced back from its season-opening loss with an resounding 69-6 win over University City. Jaguars head coach Nick Baer says a big night on the ground from star quarterback Cole Ruble and company was all part of an effort to get back to basics.

Senior wide receiver Anthony Westervelt has also emerged as a big-play threat when Seckman goes to the passing game. Baer says they’ll need all hands on deck to get through a crucial early-season contest.

Northwest is still in transition under new head coach Pete Eberhardt. As the Lions adapt to a new offense and new coaching staff, Eberhardt says there have been some signs of growth, even in an 0-2 start.

If Northwest wants to get their first win, Eberhardt says it comes down to their peformance in the run game and against the run.

The Seckman Jaguars and the Northwest Lions battle for conference and rivalry supremacy Friday evening. Coverage of Jefferson County Friday Night Football begins with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 6  on AM 1400 KJFF.
