Officials searching for machete wielding suspect

(High Ridge) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after an altercation that began at a gas station in High Ridge Tuesday afternoon.

Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak says the suspect entered the business armed with a machete around 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

The fight continued for a little while longer, then the suspect left the gas station.

There were no injuries to those passengers inside the Northwest R-1 school bus.

The suspect, who is still on the loose, has been identified as 31-year-old Ted Treece of High Ridge and he is no stranger to law enforcement officials.

Arrest warrants for 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon were issued against Treece Wednesday afternoon.
