Pedestrian Struck on I-55 Southbound between Herculaneum and Festus

(Festus) A portion of I-55 southbound between Herculaneum and Festus was shutdown on Monday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by vehicle.
Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis says his department is handling the investigation. According to Lewis the accident happened around 12:30 on Monday afternoon.
Lewis says the pedestrian that was struck was transported by Joachim Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for treatment.There is no current word on his medical status.
I-55 southbound between Herculaneum and Festus was shutdown for about a half hour on Monday afternoon before being opened back up to traffic.
