Regional Radio Blood Drive A Success

(Farmington/Festus) A total of 137 people turned out Monday to donate during the Regional Radio Blood Drive, held in Farmington and Festus. Nancy Krekeler of Farmington was one of the many who rolled up their sleeve. She’s donated so many times that she’s lost count. We asked her why she continues to give blood.

We were helped during the drive by a number of nursing students from Mineral Area College. Esther Blum is one of the instructors at the college. She says helping out at events like this are a great learning tool for the students.

Of the 137 people who turned out to donate, the Red Cross was able to collect 112 units of blood, 48 in Festus and 64 in Farmington. Monday’s Regional Radio Blood Drive was held at the Farmington VFW and the Jefferson County Family YMCA in Festus.
