S.M.T.S. Operators Honored

(Kansas City) Five employees of the Southeast Missouri Transportation Service, known locally as SMTS, received the Champions Award from the state Public Transit Association.

Those employees are Terry Benoist of Ironton, the SMTS coordinator in Iron County for nine years, eight year maintenance worker Ken Whited of Perry County…14 year Washington County SMTS operator Jimmy Gillam…Madison County shelterd workshop operator David McCutheon and 10 year Oregon County operator Donna Mooningham.

These individuals were among 20 recognized during the Transit Conference held in Kansas City.
