(IMPERIAL) The Seckman Jaguars are Suburban Conference champions of the Green Pool after defeating Hazelwood Central 16-1 in baseball on Friday.

A very special moment happened before the victory when Dawson Katzenberger, a senior Seckman baseball player who suffered severe brain trauma after a car accident last May, got the chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Senior Day.

That’s Jaguars head coach Brad Hagedorn. He adds that the team has been forever changed by Dawson’s story.

On top of the response by the Seckman team and the community, coach Hagedorn honored Dawson in a really cool way this season.

As for the Suburban Conference-clinching performance over Hazelwood Central, Parker Boyd got his 3rd win on the mound and Dom Laxton went 4-for-4 with 3 runs scored, one RBI, and 2 stolen bases. The conference crown is the 2nd one for the Seckman Jaguars under coach Hagedorn, with the last one coming in 2011, his 1st year running the program.

You can catch the rest of the interview with Coach Hagedorn on KJFF Sports Talk Tuesday beginning at 4:10 p.m.
