(CALEDONIA) – The top-seeded South Iron Panthers captured the girls Valley Caledonia Tournament championship with a 58-42 victory over the two-seed West County Bulldogs Thursday night. Both teams tried to use full-court pressure in the first half, which caused fits for both offenses. At half, South Iron led by two, and Michaela Ayers helped extend the lead for the Panthers in the second half.

That made the score 39-34 South Iron, and they would not look back en route to their second-consecutive Valley Caledonia tournament title. Head coach Lawrence Graves says his team used the second half to settle in.
