(IRONTON, Mo.) – The 93rd Annual Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament concluded Thursday night with the South Iron Panthers claiming the championship, and the Clearwater Tigers taking third place.

It was fifth-seeded Clearwater on the floor first against the 6-seed Arcadia Valley Tigers in the third place game.

Clearwater outscored AV in the first three quarters, en route to a 63-48 victory.

Senior Taylor Hicks finished with 24 points and was our Applebee’s Player of the Game.

Clearwater head coach Zac Moore was pleased with a third place finish.

Clearwater is now 3-1 on the young season while AV is 1-2.

The championship game saw first-seeded South Iron up single digits at the halftime break over the 2-seed Lesterville Bearcats, but a huge run by the Panthers quickly extended the lead in the 3rd.

But Lesterville didn’t go away quietly, cutting the lead to 5 late in the 4th.

Ultimately, South Iron prevailed and captured the championship by a final score of 64-59.

Panthers coach Dusty Dinkins reflects on the accomplishment.

South Iron is now 3-0, while Lesterville falls to 2-1 on the year.
