South Iron’s Wakefield Earns Second-Straight Dream Team Selection

(ANNAPOLIS, Mo.) – After impressing during his freshman season and making the Regional Radio Dream Team, Brock Wakefield of the South Iron Panthers boys basketball team followed it up in his sophomore year with another Dream Team selection. Wakefield averaged 20 points and five rebounds per game and was also listed on the Class 1 All-State team at the end of this season. He said he made some improvements in his game to continue his success in year two.
Wakefield did have to overcome some adversity, as he missed some games with a right hand injury at the start of 2019. However, Wakefield said the injury didn’t keep him down for long.
South Iron eventually captured its first district title since 2015, but Wakefield said his team can accomplish even more in the years to come.
Wakefield joined his freshman teammate Drenin Dinkins on the Winter Dream Team this season.
