St. Paul’s Ryan Dempsey Comments on Being Named Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week

(Farmington, Mo.) Ryan Dempsey of the St. Paul Giants’ boys basketball team was selected as the latest Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play it Forward Athlete of the Week.

Dempsey dropped 62 points across two games last week, scoring 33 against Marquand-Zion on Thursday and 29 against Egyptian Tamms on Friday. He says he’s honored by the selection.

Dempsey says his huge scoring output was fueled in part by his desire to pay tribute to the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.

The first two years of Dempsey’s time in high school were spent at Central in Park Hills before he transferred to St. Paul for his junior year.

He says the opportunity to play for the Giants has helped to further his athletic career.

Dempsey will be continuing his playing career next year at Culver Stockton in Canton, Missouri.

As part of the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week Award, Dempsey received a t-shirt, a certificate, and he chose to have the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy donate $25 to the Alzheimer’s Association.
