St. Pius and Jefferson Girls Win Class 3 District 3 Semifinal Games
(FESTUS)    The Missouri Girls Class 3, District 3 basketball championship game tomorrow (Friday) night at Jefferson High will feature the St. Pius Lady Lancers against the Jefferson Lady Blue Jays.  In games heard last (Wednesday) night on KREI 800AM and mymoinfo.com, the Lady Lancers won their semifinal game against Grandview, 49-21.  The Jefferson Lady Blue Jays won their semifinal game, 58-51 against Arcadia Valley.
St. Pius was led in scoring by Brooke Blankenship who had 15 points and P.J. Krodinger added 10 more.  Grandview was led in scoring by Lexi Walker with nine points.  St. Pius advances to the title game with a record of 20-5.  Grandview ends their season with a record of 12-14.
In the second game of the evening, Jefferson led Arcadia Valley by as many as 20 points but saw that lead melt to as few as seven in the fourth quarter.  Jefferson was led in scoring by Halayna Loyd who had 22 points.  Peyton Guffey contributed 13 more.  Arcadia Valley was led in scoring by freshman
Braely Turnbough’s 23 points.  Another freshman, Lillie Adams, was able to dish in 11 more.
Arcadia Valley ends their season with a record of 17-9.  With the win, Jefferson sets a school record for most wins in a season as they improve to 18-7.  It will also be the first time in school history that Jefferson will play in a girls basketball district championship game.
Arcadia Valley head coach Ricky Turnbough said he will remember this Lady Tigers team for its heart.

Jefferson head coach Stevie Holdinghausen said Arcadia Valley just wouldn’t quit.

Holdinghausen acknowledged she wasn’t surprised Lia Ott got into early foul trouble and had to come out of the game in the first quarter.
