St. Pius’ Eimer voted Dream Team Girls’ Cross Country Runner of the Year

(Festus) Few cross country runners were as dominant in southeast Missouri as St. Pius senior Rita Eimer, and she has the hardware to prove it.

Along with winning a Class 2 individual state championship, Eimer was the Regional Radio Dream Team Girls’ Cross Country Runner of the Year.

She says, as monumental a moment it was to win the state title, it was almost surreal.

Eimer also won a district title and the JCAA girls’ championship in her senior season.

But her favorite memories came outside of meets.

And when it came time to win a race, Eimer says she had some great help in getting herself and the Lancers to reach new heights.

Eimer helped St. Pius finish 3rd in the Class 2 team standings at the state meet.
