State Closes Hillsboro Covid Testing Site

(Jefferson County) The coronavirus testing site setup by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at the Hillsboro Civic Center is now closed until further notice.

Brianne Zwiener with the Jefferson County Health Department says the site closing is due to low testing demand.

However, if testing demand picks up again then there is a chance the state may resume the testing site. Zwiener adds COVID-19 cases in the county and across the region have been declining.

Monday, the JCHD reported 134 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 52,123 since March of 2020.

The total number of active cases is 680, and there have been 462 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
