Ste. Genevieve Improves to 4-4, Defeats Arcadia Valley in Five Innings 11-1

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons and Arcadia Valley Tigers squared off at Yanks’ Field for the right to be .500 on the season Thursday afternoon.  Ste. Genevieve wasted no time in striking first, plating a run in the bottom of the first inning.  They would never look back, scoring in the second inning as well before hanging a crooked number on the scoreboard in the third.

Noah Willett’s first RBI completed a seven run third inning for Ste. Genevieve.  His second RBI would end the game in the fifth inning on an RBI single.  Willette and Ste. Genevieve gave starting pitcher Luke Ferranto more than enough run support, defeating Arcadia Valley 11-1.  Ferranto talks about what his goal was during the start.

Ferranto was named Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game, striking out six in four innings.  Of his six strikeouts, three of them were looking.  Ferranto did well at the plate too, finishing 1-3 with a double and an RBI.  Manager Michael McDaniel talks about preaching patience at the plate.

Ste. Genevieve improves to 4-4 with their next test being Monday afternoon on the road against the DeSoto Dragons.  Arcadia Valley’s loss puts them at 2-4.  They’ll look to rebound on April 4th as they take part in the Mickey Mantle Classic.
