Ste. Genevieve Outlasts Farmington, 52-46, On KREI

(Ste. Genevieve) In a game with seven lead changes, seven ties and the largest lead being seven points, Ste. Genevieve won the night’s jackpot with a 52-46 victory over Farmington on KREI.

A 5-0 run by the Dragons tied the game at 13 at the end of the first quarter, and a Ricky Hunter three just before half gave Ste. Genevieve a 28-25 lead at the break…

 

Hunter led all scorers with 23 points. He finished with six rebounds, four assists and a steal.

A frantic close to the third quarter had Ste. Genevieve taking a four point lead into the final frame…

 

Farmington had a hard time connecting on their shots in the fourth quarter, but Logan Schaupert had his hand in seven takeaways to help the Knights keep pace…

 

However, Ste. Gen’s defensive tenacity in the fourth quarter was just as polished…

Kaden Flye scored 11 points to help Ste. Genevieve to a 15-4 record. The Dragons finished 4-1 in MAAA conference play. Ste. Gen received the #2 seed in the conference tournament and a first round bye.

Schaupert scored 14 points and Braydon Berry added 12 points for Farmington. The Knights are now 7-13 overall and 1-4 in the conference. Farmington are the #8 seed in the MAAA tournament and will play #9 Fredericktown Saturday at 4 o’clock in Caledonia.
