Ste. Genevieve woman injured in Jefferson County crash on I-55

(Festus) A Ste. Genevieve woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson County on Saturday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 30-year old Lindsay Carter was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra on southbound I-55 north of Route TT, when she struck the rear of a trailer being pulled by a 2021 Freightliner, driven by 54-year old Everett Jones of Mississippi. After striking the trailer a second time, Carter’s vehicle then drove off the left side of the roadway, struck the cable median barrier, and then traveled across the northbound lanes of I-55 before coming to a stop. Carter was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with moderate injuries. The accident took place around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
