Steelville Man Crashes Truck in Jefferson County and Arrested for D.W.I.

(Desoto) A man from Steelville was injured Thursday night in a pickup truck accident in Jefferson County and then he was later arrested.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 21, south of Perkins Road, between Washington State Park and the city of De Soto, when a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by 25-year-old Brendan S. Mitchell who was heading north.

Mitchell’s truck ran off the road, struck a series of trees and then a utility pole.

He was moderately injured and was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

Mitchell was then arrested and charged at the hospital for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

He was later released from police custody.
