Current Dunklin School District Superintendent Stan Stratton will be retiring at the end of June.

Stratton announced his retirement at the beginning of the school year and since then the school board hired Deputy Superintendent Dr. Clint Freeman to be his replacement.

Stratton has been employed with the school district for 19 years, serving 13 of those years as the districts Superintendent.

He says it’s been an honor working with great staff and students.

Stratton is retiring from the Missouri education system; however, he recently accepted a new job in another state.

Stratton has been in education for 31 years, including 26 years in administration.

Dr. Freeman will take over as Superintendent of the Dunklin School District on July 1st.

Current Festus Middle School Principal Joe Willis will become the next Assistant Superintendent at Dunklin, also starting on July 1st.
