Taylon Jones Signs with St. Louis CC

(Ironton) Arcadia Valley pitcher Taylon Jones signed with St. Louis Community College to further his education and playing career.  Jones, who was a 4-year varsity player for the Tigers, says he worked hard to get to this moment, but the feeling of being a college athlete is still surreal…

Jones was a dynamic 2-way player for the Tigers throughout his high school career. He finished his senior season with a 1.76 ERA, 52 strikeouts and 5 wins in 7 starts on the mound. In the batter’s box, Jones hit 21 RBI’s, 5 doubles, 2 triples and averaged .452 in 62 at-bats. Jones says it would be cool to play both ways in college, but he thinks he will mainly focus on pitching…

Arcadia Valley Head Coach John Inman had nothing but praise for Jones and says that STLCC is getting a great pitcher, with an even better work ethic…

The AV Tigers finished their baseball season with a record of 18-10.
