Thompson Returns to Coaching to Lead Arcadia Valley Boys Basketball

(Ironton, Mo.) A longtime basketball coach makes his return to the sideline as Eric Thompson has been named the new boys basketball head coach at Arcadia Valley High School.

He brings decades of coaching experience with him and was the head coach at Valley Caledonia for three years in the early 2000’s before spending seven years as head coach at Fredericktown.

Having not been a head coach since 2013, Thompson says he sat down and watched some classic high school basketball movies to see if the fire was still there.

As a graduate of Arcadia Valley High School and a lifetime native of the area, Thompson says he’s excited for the opportunity to carry on the tradition of Tiger basketball.

Hard work and success will certainly be a big part of the plan for Thompson as he returns to coaching, but he also says he wants to make sure his players have fun.
