Trash Dumping a Problem in Mark Twain National Forest

(Bell Mountain) The dumping of trash in the Mark Twain National Forest happens every so often but apparently it has become more common unfortunately.

Becky Ewing is a forest ranger with the Potosi/Fredericktown Ranger District.

She tells us about one of the latest illegal dumps they have discovered.

Ewing describes another dump site they have found in the Mark Twain National Forest.

If you find an illegal dump site on national forest land, or witnesses people dumping trash, notify the appropriate forest service district office.

Take a photo of or write down the license plate number of the offenders if safely possible.

Remember Woodsy Owl’s motto…”Give a hoot! Don’t pollute.”
