Two Elderly Centerville Residents Injured in Two Vehicle Crash

(Centerville) Two people from Centerville received serious injuries following a two vehicle accident Thursday in Reynolds County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Highway 21, about two miles north of Centerville when a Ford Taurus driven by 95-year-old Columbus Sumpter of Centerville traveled into the path of a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by 27-year-old Lowell Tune of Houston, Missouri, striking the truck.

Tune was not injured but Sumpter and his passenger, 86-year-old Eula Sumpter received serious injuries.

She was flown to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and Columbus Sumpter was taken to Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob.
