Two Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision in Washington County

(Mud Town) Two men were seriously injured in a two vehicle accident Tuesday in Washington County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Bottom Diggins Road at Dog Patch Lane when a Chevy Silverado driven westbound by 52-year-old William Hovis of Cadet and a Saturn VUE driven eastbound by 37-year-old James W. Thompson of Potosi.

Hovis’ pickup crossed the center of Bottom Diggins Road, striking the Saturn head-on.

The car then overturned on it’s side and slid off the right road edge.

The Chevy pickup continued westbound in the eastbound lane and also ran off the edge of the road.

Both drivers were seriously injured and were taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.
