Valle Catholic Hosts Farmington On KREI

(Ste. Genevieve) The Valle Catholic Warriors will host the Farmington Knights at Alumni Field Wednesday afternoon. We’ll have the call on AM-800 KREI. Valle, the number one team in the state in Class Three, captured the MAAA small school regular season title by going 5-0 in conference play after beating Kingston 8-1 Tuesday. The Warriors are now 21-3 on the season. Coach Nate Gegg tells us why he loaded up the schedule to play 24 games in 36 days.

Valle Catholic participated in the Lebanon Wood Bat Tournament last weekend, picking up a big win over Class Five number three Camdenton and a 7-5 loss to Class Six number six Nixa in the championship. Gegg says it was a great weekend for his guys, but there’s still more of the season left.

Farmington sit at 5-8 after falling to Central Tuesday. Playing two state-ranked teams in two days is no easy task, but Knights coach Josh Hoehn appreciates the challenge.

Valle Catholic and Farmington will begin play at 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Coverage start at 3:45 on KREI.
