(STE. GENEVIEVE) A champion will be crowned on Wednesday on AM 800 KREI in the Class 2, District 3 tournament as the top-seeded Chaffee Red Devils face the second-seed Valle Catholic Warriors.

The 20-9 Warriors advanced with a 6-1 win over Bismarck Indians Monday night and head coach Nathan Gegg says preparations for the title game began last weekend.

That focus has resulted in a six-game win streak for Valle Catholic. The two teams haven’t met this year but the 20-1 Red Devils will bring a high-powered offense to the Warriors’ home field averaging 8.4 runs per game. Chaffee’s lone loss was to Jefferson R7 on April 4th.  Chaffee is the top ranked team in all of class 2 while Valle ranks 6th.

The Class 2, District 3 championship will begin at 4:30 p.m. from Ste. Genevieve on AM 800 KREI with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show and first pitch at 4:15 p.m. The game will also be streamed on mymoinfo.com.
