(Ste. Genevieve) Josh Bieser ended his athletic career at Valle Catholic with four total Dream Team selections after making it onto the 2022 Spring Baseball Dream Team. Bieser’s excellence on the diamond came on the heels of a 2nd place finish at state in wrestling this past winter. A three-sport athlete, Bieser tells us when he gets to start training for baseball.

Bieser was the catcher and hit in the top third of the order for Valle. He finished the season with a .412 batting average, 2 home runs and 33 runs batted in. Both Valle head coach Nate Gegg and Bieser’s summer coach, Junie Basler, have said Bieser is a natural talent at the plate.

Bieser’s defensive ability is just as impressive as his swing. He threw out 45-percent of the runners that attempted a steal against him and even picked off 9 base runners. Bieser takes us back to the 5th inning of the Class 4 District 2 semifinals when he picked off runners on 2nd and 1st base.

You may be wondering where and what sport Bieser will be playing in college in the fall but he’s has elected to forego athletics and instead learn a trade. Though, Bieser doesn’t plan on being away from sports for long.

Bieser was also named 1st Team All-State this season. The Valle Catholic Warriors ended the year with a 25-8 record.
