Wappapello Woman Seriously Injured in Carter County Crash

(Van Buren) A woman from Wappapello was seriously injured Tuesday in a two vehicle accident in Carter County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place on Highway 60, about seven miles east of Van Buren when a Chevy Malibu driven by 21-year-old Sahara Schaefers of Wappapello failed to yield while crossing 60 and was struck by a Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a man from Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Schaefers was seriously injured and had to be taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.
