Washington County Farm Bureau Asks You to Thank a Farmer This Coming Week

(Potosi) Thank a Farmer Week in Missouri gets underway Sunday.

Washington County is celebrating.

In fact, the county commission approved a proclamation officially designating this coming week as Thank a Farmer Week in the county.

Here’s Jim Reed, the president of the board of directors of the Washington County Farm Bureau which has an office in Potosi.

Studies have shown during the last couple decades a steady decline in small farms across the country.

We asked Reed if that holds true for Washington County.

Reed says he will be all over Washington County this coming week, beginning Monday, promoting agriculture and local farmers.

And if you run into a farmer this week, show him or her your appreciation by simply saying “thank you”.

Thank a Farmer Week runs through Saturday the 8th.
