Woman unaccounted for after early morning fire in the Fon-Du-Lac Reservoir area

(Fenton) The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office alongside the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of a 2nd alarm fire that broke out at a home off West Lakewood Drive in the Fenton area.

High Ridge Fire Protection District Captain John Barton says crews got the call about the blaze around 3:15 on Monday morning.

Once crews extinguished a large portion of the fire, firefighters were able to get inside and begin their search for any victims.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s has confirmed a body was found inside the residence.

The medical examiners office will conduct an autopsy to determine the identification and cause of death.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. High Ridge was assisted by Saline Valley, Valley Park, and Fenton Fire Protection Districts.

North Jefferson County Ambulance District was on scene to provide medical aid.
