Young boy goes missing and found after extensive search

(Catawissa) A four-year-old Catawissa boy was found safe after going missing earlier this month. First responders reported to the scene in the 400 block of Courtney Drive on June 17th for the report of a missing boy who has autism and is non-verbal. Several agencies were involved including Rock Township, High Ridge, Cedar Hill, and Goldman Fire Protection Districts, as well as the Big River Ambulance, Byrnes Mill Police, and members of both the Jefferson and Franklin County Sheriff’s Departments. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says responders began searching closeby waterways.

Bissell says Deputy Brandt was on his way to another pond nearby when he spotted the young boy.

EMS personnel checked the boy’s health and did not find any issues or injuries and then returned him to his father.
