2 Women Injured In Two-Car Crash in Jefferson County

A 73-year-old woman from Festus suffered moderate injuries in a two-car crash Friday morning. The Highway Patrol says the crash occurred northbound at Buck Creek Road on Highway 67 when Elaine Stratton failed to stop at a stop sign in her 2015 Ford Escape and did not yield to oncoming traffic. Stratton struck the driver side of a 2008 Dodge Caliber driven by 19-year-old Herculaneum resident Jordyn Lawrence. Joachim Plattin Ambulance District transported Stratton to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. Lawrence suffered minor injuries in the crash, she was also transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson to treat her injuries.
