#5 St. Vincent Battles New Haven In State Sectionals On J98

(Park Hills) We have a doubleheader of state tournament action on J98 Tuesday evening. It begins with the Class Two sectionals between #5 St. Vincent taking on New Haven at Central High School in Park Hills.

St. Vincent are 24-3 this season and captured their first district championship since 2011 after defeating Oran on Saturday. The Lady Indians are a young team but coach Mel Kirn says they work well together.

St. Vincent are led in scoring by Allie Patrick at 16.7 points-per-game. Kirn says the sophomore has taken a big step this year but so has everyone else on the team.

New Haven are the Class 2 District 4 champions after defeating Bismarck on Saturday. The Shamrocks are 15-10, with senior Brenna Langenberg leading the way scoring 15.8 points-per-game.

St. Vincent and New Haven last played in 2011 in the Class 2 District 4 championship. St. Vincent won that game 37-30.

Pregame coverage begins at 5:45 Tuesday evening on J98 and MyMoInfo.com. The Class 3 state sectional game between #6 West County and Bishop DuBourg will follow.
