Ameren UE Warns Customers About Scams

(Jefferson County) Ameren UE is warning residents about increasing utility scams, where scammers are posing as Ameren employees and threatening to disconnect your service.

Ameren security adviser Maria Gomez urges you to be vigilant.

Gomez adds scammes are using fake case numbers and fake truck identification numbers.

Scammers are also calling Missourians, saying they’ve overpaid on their Ameren bill.

They request your personal bank information for your “refund.” Gomez urges you to hang up and to contact Ameren Missouri if you have any questions.
