Annual Thank a Farmer Week Celebrates Agriculture, Shows Appreciation for Giving Back to Communities

Celebrate Agriculture: Thank a Farmer Week is this week, which shows appreciation for those farmers that take care of the nation’s supply of food, fuel and fiber.  Despite this, exports are lower than they have been in some time.  Jim Reed, the president of the board of directors of the Washington County Farm Bureau, talks about the exports and the issue of needing more around the area.

Missouri has more than 87 thousand farms in the state, the second most in the nation. Without their hard work, prices could spike up even higher for various items.

Thank a Farmer Week continues through March 9th.
