Arnold man charged with driving under the influence after a two vehicle accident in Jefferson County

(Jefferson County) Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash Saturday evening in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by 58-year-old Richard Beck of Arnold was driving northbound on I-55 north of Pevely when he lost control, struck a cable barrier and continued into the southbound lanes before striking a 2016 Toyota Tundra driven by 48-year-old Brian Stacy of Herculaneum.

Beck received serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Stacy sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

Beck was later charged with Driving While intoxicated (habitual) and DWI causing serious physical injury.

The accident happened shortly before 5:30 Saturday evening.
