Arnold Woman Injured In Highway Crash In Jefferson County

(Jefferson County) A woman from Arnold received moderate injuries from a car crash in Jefferson County Tuesday afternoon. 66-year-old Jeanne Gorges attempted to merge onto northbound US-61 from Miller Road and failed to yield to a 2015 Subaru WRX driven by 25-year-old Caleb Caighlan. Trying to avoid Gorges’ 2019 Ford Escape, Caighlan made contact with the front of the Escape, forcing both cars to rotate. Caighlan’s vehicle went off the left side of the road, striking a curb and a concrete block. Caighlan avoided injury, but Gorges was taken to Mercy Hospital South to treat her injuries. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m.
